Ladurée is a Parisian tea room that began in 1862, when a miller from France’s southwest, Louis Ernest Ladurée, created a bakery in Paris at 16 rue Royale. It became a pastry shop and eventually, in September 1997, a restaurant and tea rooms opened on the Champs-Elysées. It was famous for its amazing Parisian decor, classic pastries, gastronomic environment, chocolate and macaroons.
The macaroons are still amazing and the pastries delicious. Options include brunch, a substantial lunch menu and a classic afternoon tea. Afternoon tea is filling and there is a choice of lovely teas or the unique, thick hot chocolate.
